“Faith that Takes a Stand”– Sunday ,13 June
We are glad to announce that the church (in Garson and Capreol) will open this week for worship at 15% capacity…thank God for the opportunity to meet in person again!
We are continuing our study of Hebrews 11; now we are concentrating on the heroes who had to overcome obstacles… they were stuck in a rut of survival but God caused them to thrive!
This week, we are studying the life of Moses; a man who lived in obscurity for 40 years, but God knew that he had a Faith that would take a Stand for truth and righteousness. God called him to be the deliverer of the nation of Israel from bondage, and Moses responded. Hebrews 11 describes his faith this way:
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
Faith that takes a Stand rejects the false identity of the world; ignores the privileges of society; and despises worldly fame/popularity and reputation. Instead, it humbles itself under the hand of God and receives God’s great grace and mercy.
Join us in person on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. or livestream by going to https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com and clicking on livestream; for “Faith that takes a Stand.” (Social distancing and face covering requirements are in effect)
