Hello Church Family !
I trust that you are all having a good week; surviving the humidity!
Louise and I look forward to being back and worshiping with you on Sunday...I am excited to bring you a new series that has been percolating while on vacation entitled" Kingdoms in Conflict". This should be an exciting series about how to negotiate your way through living in the kingdoms of this world as a Kingdom Citizen! And there is no better place to go than the book of Daniel, because he lived it out! Below is a snapshot of this week's teaching.
“God Over Everything”– Sunday, 15 August
This Sunday I am beginning a new series entitled “Kingdoms in Conflict”. One of the most neglected teachings of Jesus is that of the Kingdom…most Christians aren’t aware that they belong to the Kingdom of Light and that the world systems are part of the kingdom of darkness. No wonder there has been such confusion in recent days! So, I want to spend some weeks fleshing out what the Kingdom is from the book of Daniel. This week we will talk about the fact that God’s Kingdom is over Everything!
Daniel 1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand…
Is it possible that God would use a heathen, a pagan, idolatrous, immoral king to do His will in order to bring His people back into the Kingdom of Light? Of course, it’s possible, if you understand that God is Over Everything and controls all of the affairs of this world.
In spite of our propensity, even as believers; to have a desire to live in the Kingdom of darkness, God will correct His people and lead them back into His Kingdom; the ultimate goal is reflected in Revelation 11: 15 at the return of Christ:” Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
Join us in person on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. or livestream by going to https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com and clicking on livestream; for “God Over Everything”.
