There are many names given to the group of people who put their faith in Christ: church; bride; family; but the name that I think has the most meaning is “Body”. The name “Body” infers that there are many parts, that all differ in function and appearance, but all of them are vitally important to the working of it.
This week, being communion Sunday, I will look at these verses from 1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we, though many, are one bread and one body.
I will highlight the 4 “b” words – blessing, blood, bread, body and explain the importance of our knowing that it is through the shed blood of Christ that we receive redemption, it is because of His broken body that we are healed, and it is by being part of the body of Christ that we are blessed and encouraged. Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for “One Bread, One Body”; or join us via livestream at https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com.
Take heart and be blessed;
