Good Afternoon Church Family,
I trust that you are coping with the snow and the shorter days...winter has arrived early!
We are continuing our series on “The Body of Christ” this week as we discuss “Keeping the Unity of the Spirit.” We have been using 1 Peter 2 as a text over the last number of weeks, talking in theory about who the Body of Christ is. But now we are moving on to the practical application as to what the body of Christ does from Ephesians 4.
Ephesians 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Over the next 3 weeks we will be speaking about how the body is to ideally function; what it is designed to do and why it functions as a body in the world. This Sunday we will talk about the “how” of the function; it operates in the “unity” of the Spirit and keeps that unity by recognizing our calling as members of the body, our growth in Christian character, and our commitment to the community of believers to be united in the Spirit.
Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for “Keeping the Unity of the Spirit”; or join us via livestream at https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com.
Take heart and be blessed;
Pastor Kevin
