Good Morning Folks,
I trust you are all well on this chilly spring day...warmer weather is on the way ! As you are probably aware, in light of the present orders, we are limited again in our attendance at church and will be providing a live steam service ONLY for the next 4 weeks. I am looking forward already to being back with the church family when this present order lifts. I pray for God's continued blessing over all of you during this time :)
Live Stream Service Only at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday (25 April)
In this new series entitled,” Faith that Pleases God”, we have looked at how faith is defined and last week we spoke about how we need to have faith in our Creator, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
This week, as we start down the Hall of Faith examining the lives of the faithful, we look at the life of Abel. Abel was the second oldest son to Adam and Eve. The writer of Hebrews says this about Abel in vs. 4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
What was it about Abel’s sacrifice that set it apart from Cain’s, made him acceptable to God and through it was declared righteous? Abel had an Earnest Faith – his sacrifice was offered from a heart that was sincere and devoted, reliable and true. It was an Extravagant Faith, one that believed that if he brought his very best to God, God would reward him for his faithfulness and bless him with even greater responsibility in the Kingdom. It was a Faith that received the Evidence that God had witnessed his sacrifice, he was commended as righteous and finally it is a Faith that will lead on into Eternal life.
Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. via Livestream Only by going to https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com and clicking on livestream; for “The Righteous Will Live By Faith”
