"When the Glory Departs"

Good Morning Church,

I keep on using the word "unprecedented" in speaking about the times that we live in....but we know and understand that God that God is not caught by surprise by any of the events of 2020-21.

Isaiah 46: 9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me,

10Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,And I will do all My pleasure,’

It is important for us to recognize that He is "in control"...these are days when we MUST more than any other, lean upon Jesus and His Word. Remember our scripture for the Year 2021...Isaiah 55:6,7 Seek Me while I may be found...Call upon Me while I am near..!

I will be sending out an email in the next couple of days giving some opportunity to meet via zoom for prayer and also other practical instructions for the next few weeks. Remember you can always reach me by phone 705-919-9523.

“When the Glory Departs” (Live Stream Services Only for next 4 Sundays) In this New Year’s series “What Happens Next?”, I am examining a number of end time signs that are mentioned in Scripture leading up to the return of Christ. We have spoken about “lawlessness” and last week we talked about Jesus’ return will restore our justice system and make all things new.

This week, I am jumping into Matthew 24 and Jesus’ discourse with His disciples regarding the temple and the impending destruction that will come upon it.

Matthew 24: 1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

To describe it as ironic is an understatement…Jesus, the “glory” of God the Father is now leaving the temple for the last time before His crucifixion…unwelcome in the place that was created for His worship! And while His disciples are mesmerized by the physical beauty of the building, Jesus makes this stunning prediction, that not one stone will be left upon another.

There are three things that happen when the glory departs: Decline…..systems begin to fail; Distress….His disciples are now full of questions and concern about the future ;and Deception…Jesus gives the first “sign” of the end times in vs. 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

Join us on Sunday at church at 10:00 a.m. or via livestream only for the third part of this series; the message is entitled: “When the Glory Departs”

Take heart and be blessed!

Pastor Kevin
