“Who Gets the Worship?”– Sunday, 22 August
Last Sunday I began a new series entitled “Kingdoms in Conflict”. One of the most neglected teachings of Jesus is that of the Kingdom…most Christians aren’t aware that they belong to the Kingdom of Light and that the world systems are part of the Kingdom of Darkness. This week I want to ask the question” Who gets the worship?”
Daniel 1:2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.
This story of Daniel begins with a heathen, a pagan, idolatrous, immoral king invading the land of Judah and exiling the people of God back to Babylon; not only that; but he took the implements of their worship from the temple as well! Since the beginning of time, Satan, aka Lucifer, has been attempting to steal away the worship from God and make it his own. He even tempted Jesus at the start of His ministry by offering all the kingdoms of the world If He would bow down and worship him.
And he will continue with his attempts; the last being when he sets up his henchman, the Anti-Christ and demands worship from the entire world under threat of not being able to buy or sell... But that’s when Jesus will step in and have His Day!
