“Avoiding the devil’s Snare?”– Sunday, 29 August

I have begun a new series entitled “Kingdoms in Conflict”. One of the most neglected teachings of Jesus is that of the Kingdom…most Christians aren’t aware that they belong to the Kingdom of Light and that the world systems are part of the Kingdom of Darkness. This week my sermon is entitled: “Avoiding the devil’s snare.”

Daniel 1: 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king. 6 Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. 7 To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.

We talked about the fact that King Nebuchadnezzar was commissioned by God to take the people of God captive and to exile them to Babylon for 70 years. God desires to purge the idolatry from His people; but the devil desires to keep the people of the Kingdom held captive to do his will. This will be an enormous spiritual battle: to live in a culture that is anti-God; with anti- Christian values, and that is entrenched in a pagan philosophy. Sound familiar?

What can Daniel and his friends do to avoid the enemy’s tactics that were bent on Deceiving them, Discontinuing their life of faith and Diluting their belief system?

Join us in person on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. or livestream by going to https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com and clicking on livestream; for “Avoiding the devil’s Snare?”.
