“Infants in Christ”

What does it mean to be spiritually mature? How do we know when we get there? These are issues that the apostle Paul addressed with many of the churches to which he gave leadership. In particular, he wrote to the Corinthian church on one occasion saying this:

“ I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you are not ready for it and even now you are not ready. “ 1st Corinthians 3:2

The sign of a mature believer is their ability to partake of the meat of the Word; to read, understand and obey the Word of God. But unfortunately, for the Corinthians, their poor behavior gave away their immaturity. I wonder what Paul would say about our degree of maturity in Christ: A mature meat-eater? Or an infant still drinking milk?

This Sunday, 2 of our own will be filling in my absence. Paul Murdock and Ron Desrosiers will explore the depths of these passages and others; in a message entitled: “Infants in Christ.”

Join us in person on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. or via livestream by going to https://www.firstbaptistsudbury.com and clicking on livestream for “Infants in Christ.”
