“Mother’s Day” Sunday, 08 May 2022 10:00 a.m.
Mother’s Day is a special occasion to honour those who have given us the gift of life and nurtured us in our growing years. And, if you have a mom who is a believer as I do, it’s a time to say “thanks” for teaching you the values of the Word of God. This morning, my mind went to the story of the Jewish midwives, who Pharaoh had ordered to kill all the male infants. But the Hebrew midwives “feared God” and allowed the male infants to live (Exodus 1:17). To their credit, they valued God’s law above Pharaoh’s laws and refused to commit the act of infanticide. So, the Israelites continued to grow in number and strength. Also, the Lord rewarded the midwives well by giving them families of their own.
It is my privilege to have as a special speaker on this Mothers Day, my sister: Karen Manship. Karen has been a believer since childhood, she has carefully followed God as He led her into Bible College and full-time minister for 25 years. Karen has a special ability to communicate the truth of the Word especially as it relates to navigating the reality of the trials of everyday life; I know that you will be inspired by her.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday as Karen brings a message entitled: “The Touch of Jesus.”
