“A Change of Heart – A Leap of Faith”

Good Morning Church Family!

I trust that you are all well and enjoying this last week of June ...Canada Day is on Thursday...I hope you all take time to reflect on the privilege that we enjoy in worshiping as we do and also pray for our government and leaders in this time that we live that God would give them guidance; they desperately need God's wisdom and help. I look forward to being with you on Sunday :)

“A Change of Heart – A Leap of Faith”– Sunday ,04 July

We are continuing our study of Hebrews 11; now we are concentrating on the heroes who had to overcome obstacles… they were stuck in a rut of survival but God caused them to thrive!

Last week we began a study of Gideon; a man who was merely surviving in a small town that was oppressed by the Midianites…but God called him to become valiant; that is courageous and strong!

This week we are examining the call of Gideon more closely; God had chosen Gideon and called him to be a valiant warrior but Gideon had some spiritual vision problems. He had some “small faith” issues and God needed to work on him before he would be able to accomplish anything great. Gideon had heart attitudes he needed to deal with.

Judges 6: 13 Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”

He struggled with attitudes of Defeatism; God has forsaken us and we are doomed; a Diminished attitude: I’m too small to do anything significant for God! and a Doubting heart: Lord just show me a sign so I know it's you! But the Lord changes his heart with a supernatural revelation of His presence; burns away the doubt and fear and puts him on the path of becoming a man of faith.
