I trust that you are well this morning...I pray for you often and look forward to being with you on Sunday...below is a snapshot of Sunday's events. Blessings Kevin

“Restoring Your Spiritual Passion” Sunday, 06 February 2022 10:00 a.m.

We are continuing with our new series on the book of Haggai entitled: “Bring Back the Glory.” Last week, we talked about the fact that the Lord is challenging the people through the prophet to learn to live in the fear of the Lord. They were challenged by the word of God to act in obedience, and when they did that, they learned to fear the Lord; to have an attitude of reverence and awe for God which leads to humility and further obedience. And when they did that, then…God began to stir their hearts… and then, at last they began to do the will of God.

Now we are beginning ch.2 of Haggai and the prophet is speaking further to the people about what God wants to accomplish through this restoration experience…He desires to restore their spiritual passion. The people have left off working on the temple because they were discouraged with the idea that in their efforts to rebuild it, that it would never measure up to the beauty and majesty of the original temple.

Haggai 2:1 …. the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying…. 3 “Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing?”

It’s easy to become discouraged and disillusioned in our spiritual lives when we recall what has been and where we are now. For the people of Judah, the glory days of the temple were unparalleled, the memory of going up to that majestic place for worship was awe inspiring; but now looking at the pile of rubble that was left of it, was just so disheartening.

You may be in that place spiritually…reflecting back on where you have been with God as compared to where you are now - you may think that you will never get back to that place again. But God wants to tell you as He does to these folks, that as they Reflect on their spiritual lives, are Resolute in their spiritual efforts, Remember God’s covenant; and Remain in His Presence…. that He will once again restore their spiritual passion.
