We are continuing our series on “The Body of Christ” this week as we discuss the “The Election of a Lifetime”; and no; I am not speaking about American politics or even Canadian for that matter. But I am talking about the fact that we are chosen, “elected” by God to follow Him and to bear fruit in His Kingdom.
1 Peter 2: 9 But you are a chosen generation…by this we understand that as Christ’s church, His Body; we are called and elected by God to be part of His family.
I will be referring to the parable of the wedding banquet of the King’s son (Matthew 22) in order to learn that to be “Chosen” is a) Dependent on responding to a Call; b) Due to God’s Grace; c) Not due to our own Righteousness; d) To be Clothed in Christ’s Righteousness and e) To Receive Eternal Life.
As Jesus concludes this parable; “Many are called; but few are chosen.”
